Braided Strawberries & Cream Bread

Braided Strawberries & Cream Bread
Made this today so that I can show my YW how to do it tonight. I've been finding recipes for a week or so now, but decided this morning that I would just kind of wing it. I ate it for lunch and it was delicious! And pretty easy.

Bread Recipe:

2 Eggs
1/3 C. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
2 C. HOT Water
5 1/2 - 6 1/2 C. Bread Flour
2 Tbsp. Active Dry Yeast

Mix all ingredients for 5 - 10 minutes. Let raise for 1 hour (or until double in size).

I then split mine in 2 parts (but 3 is probably better).

Roll into a rectangle on parchment paper. (I probably did mine about 10 x 15). Then move dough with paper to a baking sheet.

Filling:

1/3 C. Cream Cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp. Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp. Flour

1 C. Strawberry Preserves (I just used frozen strawberries and mashed them).

Mix everything except strawberries and spread down middle of dough. Spread strawberries on top. Cut horizontal, one-inch strips down the length of the outer columns. I cut all the way into the jelly section, but it would probably be best to make the cuts a little more shallow so the jam doesn't leak out the sides while baking. Alternate strips across bread so they slightly overlap in the middle.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Enjoy!
